Painstaking Progress
One of my favorite times of the year is when I get to look back on the past twelve months—reviewing which projects I was able to check off my to-do list and deciding what’s in store for the year ahead. Of the ten projects on last year’s list, I fully completed four and made progress on six others. That’s not too bad, although I’d certainly prefer to see more projects in the “finished” column than the “in progress” one. The four quilts I completed were all made from Connecting

Limited Progress on the To-Do List
The last three months of 2025 have flown by just as quickly as the first nine—probably because we’ve been busy with a variety of fun activities. In October, we took an enjoyable bus trip to Washington, DC, where we were able to see quite a few sites in spite of the government shutdown. I also enjoyed a couple of Broadway shows—The Wiz and The Notebook—at the Orpheum with Melissa, Kevin, and his family. In November, we spent a great weekend with my college friend and his wife,

An Awe-Inspiring Assembly
Patriotism was on full display last week at the Veteran’s Day assembly held at Freeman Public Schools. From the Kindergarten class who led the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Jr High and High School Patriot Pen and Voice of Democracy winners who read their essays.
